At my home, in a rural setting on the outskirts of Brisbane city, the focus of the program for the 21/2 - 4 year old child is on health giving care rather than education. Rhythm and routine, imitation and imagination are the pillars of this program working with the senses of balance, movement, health and touch. Tuesday and Fridays are our days beginning at 8.45am and ending at 2.15pm. There are 8 children and 2 carers, providing a program of walking, play, baking, craft, songs, circle and rest time. Inspired by the Danish 'Nokken' childcare centre we include, whatever the weather, a walk (on Fridays to the goats down the road) through the paddock where we feed the chickens and horse.
We have a wonderful Steiner inspired playgroup. Each week our children enjoy circle time, bread baking, outdoor play, morning tea and storytelling with our lovingly handmade characters.

Little Tree holds two playgroups weekly on a little farm in Echuca Village. A breathing in and breathing out rhythm has been established for harmony and growth. Sunhaven, a Rudolf Steiner Centre supports individuals with special needs. Friday during school term 9.30 to 11.30, families who have a child 0 to 6 years with a disability or a developmental delay in one or more areas are invited to share a morning of 'Rhythm and Routine'. Siblings are invited to attend as are any other families in the community who would like to be part of a Steiner Playgroup. Nansi Finch is passionate about early childhood. Rudolf Steiner has given her wonderful insights on how to look at the human being and nature through fresh eyes. Katie Alini will be the ongoing Facilitator of the playgroup and she also has a background in Steiner/Waldorf education and early childhood.
